Cricket is often referred as a Gentlemen’s Game, but in the past few years, there have been so many incidents of on-field fights that it has raised questions on the Gentlemen-ship of the game!
The recent incident happened during Bermuda’s Champion of Champions finals when Bermudian cricketer Jason Anderson got into an ugly on field during a match. Anderson, representing the Cleveland County Cricket Club, instigated and incited Willow Cuts Cricket Club’s George O’Brien during the Champion of Champions final and things got ugly between them. This is one rare occasions of where a Cricket Match Turns Into A Wrestling Match, but it leaves us with lots of unanswered questions!
The Cleveland County Cricket Club has banned Anderson for life.
“The executive and members of CCCC do not condone the behavior of Mr Anderson,” the club said. “We view these matters seriously and as a community club this is not the type of behaviour that we expect from members of the club, nor the example that we would like to set for our junior players.”
